Who are you, and what do you do?
We are a marquee company based in Derbyshire. We specialize in creating medium-large wedding marquees that are finished to a high standard. We are able to provide practically everything needed for a marquee wedding including marquee, catering, lighting, chairs, tables, flooring, linen, cutlery and more. We work closely with local wedding venues where some of our marquees remain through the year, including the marquee at Osmaston Park.
How did you get started in the wedding business?
We began in 2003. We have a well-established, highly regarded catering company within the family (Uppercrust Caterers - uppercrust.helen@hotmail.co.uk ) and we were always being asked for a quality Marquee Provider. We started by putting up small garden party marquees. Weddings were not something we did much of then. Before long we were asked to provide a larger marquee for a local customer which became a major stepping stone for us. We now do over 100 marquee weddings per year, with the number growing annually!
What makes your business different from everyone elses?
Without a doubt what separates us from the rest is the way we finish a marquee and the relationship we build with our customers. Every effort is made to ensure the marquee is clean, tidy and the way the customer wanted it. We also spend as much time as we can working with the customer to get what they want out of everything.
What do you love most about weddings?
The great thing about providing wedding marquees is that people are always pleased to see you and look forward to you being there, we visit various different locations, new people all of the time and share in their special day. It is great seeing people enjoy all of the hard work that goes into the planning stages which could of taken years.
Any tip for brides looking into your type of service?
After providing nearly 1000 marquees to a variety of locations, events and people, we always, always tell brides and grooms to:
Sample all and any products and services – businesses are wanting your money so make them earn it!
Don’t believe that the highest price means the best there is – you would not believe the range of prices that exist and they do not reflect quality!
Speak to friends and family that have done this before and get their ideas – perhaps don’t let them take over though!
Stick to your budget – not being able to pay for what you have ordered feels far worse than not having expensive bells & whistles. Guess what? Your guests do not care about the wedding as much as you do!
Relax - if it is becoming stressful, then something is wrong!

We have a partner catering company, Upper Crust Caterers based at our HQ in Longford Ashbourne. We provide traditional English food for weddings, parties, funerals and corporate events.
